Lone Star Songs takes the Distant Beloved theme in a more difficult direction with this evening curated by the brilliant Houston-based duo of Lyndsi Maus and Kellan Dunlap, Even the Trees Weep. In a country deeply divided over weapons, we struggle to find common language to express our shared fear and grief. We believe song can help us come together, especially in this beautiful program which celebrates life and joy even as it faces violence and loss head-on.
